Walkers crisps multipacks - watch out for Gary!

Maybe I missed it before but in the last week at two supermarkets (Tesco and Morrisons) I have spotted that Walkers crisps multipacks now contain 5 packets rather than 6. Seems like a rather underhand way of increasing the price by 16.66666666...%, but I suppose they have to pay Gary Lineker's advertising fees somehow.

This is one of the "check it's the same thing if it looks cheaper" cases isn't it? On the other hand, a fortnight ago Sainsbury were selling the Regional Favourites editions at £1 for a six pack. But not all six flavours in one pack, mind you, two bags of three flavours, so you had to buy 2x6 packs to get all 6 flavours - which you need to enter the competition on them.

I've checked online and in-store. Walkers are six packs at Asda, Tesco and Morrissons... around me at least!

A long time ago I noticed that things from poundshop type places aren't always the bargains they first appear.

They often sell things in a smaller size, such as multi-bag crisps that contain five instead of six packets.

I guess it could be a trial in the OP's area.

Did the outside of the packet say 5 pbags inside or is it a case the multipack has been missed by the machine putting 1 bag in.

Yes, they are marked as 5 bags, I didn't buy because I don't condone the underhand tactic.

Not as underhand as reducing the weight of the bag and keeping 6 in the pack.
