    Smart meters are the best thing since sliced bread!,...they have a little button that lights up the display so it’s easy to read if they’re fitted in a dark cupboard, or wherever;

    ...impressive eh?,...that alone is reason enough to have smart-meters fitted, IMHO. :D

    But you really don’t need to physically read your smart-meters at all;...what’s the point of having a dog and barking yourself?

    You can set them up to transmit your readings to the supplier every 24hrs if you wish,..and view the readings online real-time.

    P.S. forgot to add;...smartmeters are small and dinky. :j They take up very little space, unlike the old style gas meters many of which are the size of garden sheds. ;)

    Many thanks for your feedback too The Big Bamboo. I've passed this on to our smart meter management team as well.

    Just a quick heads up. As well as setting smart meters up for 24 hourly readings, it's also possible to do this half hourly. This helps us understand how energy is being used so we can better forecast future need. The choice is yours.

    Customers need to contact us to give permission for daily or half hourly consumption collection. Without this consent, we'll continue to collect the information monthly.

    Thanks again The Big Bamboo.
