Massive long post eaten by Internet.
Taff, thinking of you.
Speky, I do hope your beloved gran makes a good recovery and that you can carve out some time to think about your options. Manchester isn't the end of the universe, flights home are possibly cheaper than the train and faster too. Think about what you really want in terms of employment, the Manchester. Job ir a good vounter-offer from your employer.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone, late on today as woke up in the early hours with very painful sinuses and only just starting to feel human again. Thank goodness for honey & lemon and Olbas oil.
Holly it’s only natural to feel apprehensive, hope today goes as well as possible and please let us know that you are ok.
Speky sorry to hear about your Gran, if you explained the situation to your perspective new employers would they give you a little more time to decide, your emotions must be all over the place at the moment?
TA that poor family at the hospice, even though it was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through I wouldn’t change those last few weeks with my Mum for the world. I felt as if we were all in a protective bubble, surreal in one way but what we all needed and ultimately what was best for Mum. Hugs x
OL sorry that things are difficult again with your son, please take care of yourself.
Not sure what I will do today, hopefully will be up to seeing Lu if only for a groom and cuddle.0 -
Speky I sorry to hear about your nan I know how close you are. Job wise ...your nan sounds like a very wise woman and i feel sure she wouldn't want you to give up an opportunity when its so easy to visit sorry but we are not talking across the world here Manchester has great links and you are only a few hours away. Could you speak to the company and let them know what has happened so you dont make any rash decisions?
Anyway whatever you decide I wish your nan all the best for a speedy recovery0 -
Speky
I have no idea what I am talking about medically but it seems a good sign to me that sometimes she is perky and is not always in discomfort or breathless. I hope she responds to treatment well and quickly and that you are able to make a decision about jobs that you will be happy with.
TA
I am so glad the hospice place will remain for you both and sending good wishes to all of you.
Holly
The way you have described the place and the people sounds very positive and I hope things go well for you. Thanks to nelski for keeping us updated.
OL
I hope things resolve with Prodigal and he eventually sees sense.
Have just had some breakfast and put away a grocery delivery. Washing machine has just finished and need to tumble dry a few things before going to library to volunteer.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Hello chums and oh dear so many of our 'virtual' friends going through tough times at the moment. I wish I could get you altogether for a hug as you are really having a worrying time
H/Harvey you are brilliant honey and I'm sure you will feel less stressed once you have got the bed and got settled in The unit sounds excellent and they are obviously a caring bunch who will help you through the coming weeks.x
Mrs TA its good that your OH has a place confirmed at the hospice our brave Frank was in their one for 6 weeks then told he would have to be moved and he decided to come home and was home for another three weeks until the inevitable happened.Margaret his wife who is 82 slept on the sofa by his bed from when he got home But the twilight nurses would come in during the night so she never really had more than two hours sleep at a time bles her.Hospice places as you say are sadly at a premium .You are in my thoughts every day xx
Speky what a dreadful few days you have had and I know how close you sound to your Gran, try to make a bit of time to sit and weigh up the pros and cons.
I'm sure your Gran would give you some wise advice if she can. OK so a move maybe on the cards, but if you were happy and settled where you are you wouldn't have looked for a job elsewhere, and Manchester is an amazing city and not that far from Glasgow. Difficult decisions ahead for you perhaps x
OL you too have worrying times with your Prodigal son and at times your grumpy OH you sound as though you are stuck in the middle of everyone ,quite often a place where a lot of Mums end up.x
Csarina you too have your worries but seem to ride above them as best you can x
It's good that even if its just sitting and writing things down on the forum ,if it helps a bit then we are all here to listen to you all.
I'm just jogging along at an even keel at the moment ,just hoping that DGS Ben can get a job soon as he is not happy being at home with little to do after four years at Uni with lots going on. I have to keep finding job and things for him to do to fill his days up and give him a bit of structure.
I have some wrapping up of things to do today as DD and her OH are off to NYC with theChristmas stuff, and DGS Danny's birthday presents in a couple of weeks time.
Then I shall go to youngest DDs house and sort Ben out later I think as its not too cold I will perhaps get him to cut back some of the bushes in her garden that have got a bit overgrown
Last night 's quiz got us another bottle of vino to go into the stash
and it was a great evening with lots of laughter.
Right time to get a wriggle on, Hope every one has the best day then can despite all of their worries
Take care all

Good afternoon everyone from an overcast but still dry East London (fingers crossed I haven’t jinxed the weather :rotfl:) as I have two loads of washing out on the whirligig& one in the wm.
Thanks for the start Holly.
As many of you are so much more expressive than I am - I will just send copious (((hugs))) & good wishes to all those going through the mill but especially TA, Holly, Speky’s gran & OL.
Have pottered today but seem to have got a few bits done - bed stripped & bedding washed & now drying; laundry basket emptied & 3rd & last load in wm; initials embroidered on baby blanket which has been washed & is now drying; winter bedding retrieved from airing cupboard & bed made after a turn of the mattress & a good airing :T; wood preserver painted on to the bottom shelf of the table top garden bed (only taken a month :rotfl:);
Discovered last night that DSis is not a lover of stews  (strange as she is a ‘meat & two veg with lashings of gravy’ person - go figure
) but she will have to have it again tonight with lots of mash. DH & I love stews so we will continue through the week & I will freeze a double portion for when I don’t feel like cooking (which is frequently :rotfl:) Have taken some lamb chops out of the freezer for her dinner tomorrow - as I am such a luvverly sister :rotfl:
DH has spent an hour continuing with the repair of the garden tub - still has limited vision with the reattached retina eye but his vision is far better than he had anticipated :TI am still playing nurse for at lest another 1.5 weeks
Have as good a Wednesday afternoon/evening as possible.
(((HUGS)))

Hello all
Not in a very good place today, woke up angry and frustrated at everything . I have tried to work through it and ended up in tears. So I will send much love and gentle hugs to all. Hope to be more myself tomorrow.
Take care
