Non of the repairs were listed as advisory last year and there no way I’d know about sealbelt anchors and suspension rods to maintain things like that. I’m fine with it costing what it needs but I don’t want to keep lowing money into it when it’s just declining year on year.
I can’t also keep running it until it completely dies on me. I have to travel locally for work and carry equipment which makes trains/buses difficult.
I just want to replace it with something newer which may give us a few years good service before it starts to cost us.
Anyone got any thought on places to get good deals and what I should look for in terms of a good solid reliable make/model for a family. Thank you
Average age for scrapping a car is around 13 years, yours is merely middle aged.
I think if you're on a DMP i'd be driving on at this one and setting aside a little every month for bills.
You're only going to get a newer car at a crippling interest rate while you're on your DMP, so you'll end up paying a fortune for a car that may not be any more reliable...0 -
How far do you need to drive?
What are your general needs/wants?0
