A Mckenzie Friend is allowed to whisper in the defendant's ear and pass them papers.

A Lay Representative acts on behalf of the defendant, who must also attend, as if they were an unqualified solicitor/lawyer. The defendant may be asked no more than to confirm their name and address, but could be asked other questions by the judge.
I would recommend this for any nervous defendant.
Look up and print off the Lay Representative's Right of Audience to be used on the day of the oral or telephone hearing.

I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

Thanks for all the advice, i have used @Coupon-mad template to reject the hearing on paper. We have recommend a Telephone hearing as my wife feels this would be less stressful. GladRags have already said that they do not want to attend, are they allowed to just not turn up or do they have to?

Gladstones just throw the stones, when it comes to reality, it will no doubt be a "rent by the hour" legal who they can blame when they lose ?
When it comes to the judge asking you questions, you must immediately query the add-on of £60 to remind the judge.  Gladstones cannot explain their legal authority and very doubtful the legal can explain .......  If your judge fully understands abuse of process, hopefully he will simply strike out the case fpr Abuse of Process .......

Gladstones never turn up - and the Claimant rarely turns up - usually they send a 3rd party legal rep.
