Metrofone reneging on contract?
Hi,
Late last week I signed up to a new phone contract via Metrofone.
This was supposed to be next day delivery but they for some reason instructed the courier to send on Monday instead (they apologised after the fact but no compo despite massive inconvenience and having to use PAYG for a new days to bridge previous contract and not in this week so had to travel extra to pick up).
Then today before I could get the phone they called to say that actually the contract I signed was not valid because the offer expired in July and they aren't sure how I managed to access it (I did via saynoto0870 ad) and they wouldn't activate the phone.
They said I could either pay a higher rate for the contract I signed, return the phone or pay 1 pound extra a month for 10GB more (total 20GB).
Although I didn't need more than 10GB I agreed verbally to the revised offer over the phone as busy at work and didn't have time to argue.
Also first CS rep I talked to said phone active since Friday, but new rep I talked to today said hadn't been activated yet and would activate tomorrow on revised offer
I'm thinking now though how that can even be legal?
