I have a question about who is responsible for car park maintenance, like fixing potholes, making sure lines between the bays are clear and picking up litter

there are 3 units that share this car park, they are pound stretcher, go kids go and the gym group, its on private land
a company called care parking manages the land, they said its up to the land owner

i use the car park to use the gym

the gym group says the car park has nothing to do with them

i can't find any details of the landowner for the car park on land registry

address of car park:

25 Raw Dykes Rd, Leicester LE2 7JU

  • Whoever is providing the service, be it either the land over or the person leasing the land. Whether they choose to or not is another matter.

If you dont like the facilities vote with your feet, or wheels in this case.

It's the nearest gym to my house with a reasonable size car park

I have no idea who is meant to be providing the service, the company who run the car park, care parking won't tell me

land registry has no information about the car park

In many of these developments, the whole area is owned by a property company which leases the shop units to the individual outlets and then may enter a parking management agreement with [STRIKE]a bunch of crooks[/STRIKE] a parking management company.

If you ask the gym who they lease their premises from, you may find that it is that company who owns the car park. I can think of a couple where it is a pension company that is the ultimate owner, so you may find that you have a financial stake in this yourself!

Is there a charge for using the car park?

If so, then you have a contractual relationship with whoever takes your money, and they should be your first port of call regarding pot-holes etc.

I don't think the gym group will tell me who they rent from, i could try asking, don't think i would get anywhere with that

From looking at google street view, it doesn't look like the car park has been resurfaced/ lines repainted since 2008

how could i track down the owner of the car park when i can't find it on land registry?

Good luck. I doubt they'll particularly care.
