Hi @ peter_the_piper
Total amount owing was £265.43 (I thought the 43p was a nice touch) Original PCN was £160.00 so i imagine this final figure included court costs/other nonsense?
So for the sake of £10.43 I decided to settle - appreciate I may have a solid case if I chose to go to hearing however as a single chap on a moderate income I couldn't justify the extra expenditure as frustrating as that is.
I have since drafted a formal complaint regarding Gladstones Solicitors and I intend to file a complaint regarding the mis-use of my personal data (that will be for UK-CPM)“It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.”0 -
£25 to issue claim, £50 to file the claim form, plus interest.
ORiginal PCN was NOT £160, it was £100, they later added on fake, fraudulent "debt collector charges" when no such charges were incurred0 -
Submitted a robust complaint to the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) yesterday and am currently awaiting reply.
Doing some reading to complain to the Ombudsman it would appear I first need to complain to Gladstones, even if said complaint inst acknowledged (draft a doc and send recorded post?)
Once that is in I have the basis for my complaint to the Ombudsman. I am going to give this a go - nothing else to lose! Thanks all.“It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.”0 -
I am appalled, you paid the scammer rather than pay the court the fee of £255 which you would very likely have been refunded and the PPC made to cough up.
Why do we bother? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
