Moisture detected in USB port Samsung S8

This popped up overnight when we were on holiday, I can only charge wirelessly at the moment. The phone has never been in water or near water, I have searched the internet and it looks like it's a fairly common issue that Samsung don't want to admit to. I have tried various 'workarounds' that well...don't work! and wondered if anyone has had the same problem and managed to fix it short of getting a new phone!

Water in phone is fairly normal user fault usually confirmed by water indicators on inside the phone .
Yet to see a water post where the user did not say its never been near water etc.

Heat can cause condensation etc .

You can ask the vendor under your consumer rights .
You can ask Samsung under their limited warranty subject to the T&C . Damage as in water voids Samsung warranty

Have you ever used it to listen to music in the bathroom? That's one of the most common causes of moisture inside a handset.
  • It was just left on a table over night cos I forgot to plug it in to charge it, when I plugged it in the thing started beeping at me and flashing that message.

You mention holiday, could be in a naturally high humidity area, & cooling overnight has caused condensation?
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens
  • Not sure if there is high humidity in N Wales :-) we'e been there a lot and it's never affected the phone...guess I'm looking at insurance claim.
