What nonsense. If the flight is cancelled EasyJet are obliged to give you a refund.

Yes: obliged under EU law. After Brexit that obligation may lapse...

I don't know of a single airline in the world that refuses to refund tickets if they do not operate a flight and many countries (including the UK) will have consumer laws that prevent it. Even putting Brexit and EU261 aside, it's really quite unthinkable that easyJet would cancel flights and keep the money paid by affected passengers.

I *think* (can't find the reference now) that the UK Gov has now said that it would extend an equivalent law covering UK airlines.

True in theory, but only as long as the airline is solvent! You would be looking to your card provider.

Given how easily airlines can fail (Monarch, XL etc.) with a bad season or an oil price rise, there's the very realistic prospect of airlines going under. I suspect easyJet has done enough to mitigate the effects of Brexit, but nobody really knows.
