how to back up EVERYTHING to disc?

i have all my files backed up to disc and a recovery dvd, but is there a way i can back up my whole computer in one go, drivers, apps, the lot on a few dvd's? or at least the updates and new drivers i have added since the recovery disc as i have added loads and it would take hours to load them all back on if i needed to. all my normal docs and photos i have backed up already, thanks

hi if your hard drive is either made by seagate or maxtor(and there is a fair chance it is), then you can go to there website, and download maxblast, which s just a rebadged acronis trueimage, which reluctant spender told you about, here is a link to the website, http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=Downloads&vgnextoid=51e092db8a13d010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD, just click on maxblast on gneral downloads, hth Dave.

It's also available on the Seagate site badged as disk wizard.

Go into device manager and see what type of disk you have, it should list the model number. Then google for it to find the manufacturer. If it is a Seagate or Maxtor download Maxblast or Disk Wizard and you're away.

Clonezilla is a freeware disk cloning application but I'v enot used it so no idea how good it is.

I've used Disk Wizard to back up a Seagte disc to a Hitachi disc, as far as I know Disk Wizard and MaxBlast are the same. Using the software on other makes does go against the terms of the license though.
