The indoors Yi cameras are £20 / £ 30.
The Arlo Go cameras are expensive and may requires a battery to be recharged at regular intervals. If you don't get a battery powered one how are you going to power it?
Have a read here
For an outside camera, I was thinking that I could drill a small hole through my window frame and run the cable thread through, then plug in directly to a socket a meter away from the window.
I read that cameras facing out through glass will pick up glare? So I guessed outside would be best. All you need is love (and chocolate)0 -
We've got this system

It's fantastic quality for the price and you can view it from your mobile via the annke vision app. For playback and continuous recording though you do have to add your own hard drive (very simple to install) we didn't have that expense as we had a spare already lying around. It only comes with two cameras but you can add a further two wired and one ip camera if you need to. We've added one additional so far and may invest in an ip doorbell camera to link up to it too.
We are incredibly impressed with the image quality, particularly the night vision, I've seen and set up systems worth hundreds that are not as good as the quality from this.
Thanks. Would this work with just an android phone? I don't have a pc / laptop. All you need is love (and chocolate)0 -

Also indoor reflection can be delt with, though perhaps not the prettiest solution: Cover the camera with a cardboard box with the lense side open, place the mobile to the rear top of the box, so that the top acts as a sunlight cowl. Place the box directly in touch with the glass window. Myself would probably put the mobile on a wine bottle held my elastic bands, and cover that with a box
Still, not many surveillance cameras can beat the cameras found even on the much older mobiles.0 -

Yes it's a traditional CCTV system that you plug in to your TV or a monitor, we have ours connected to the tv in the spare bedroom and just access the app from our phones or tablets, it does need an Ethernet connection to your router to allow the app to work though but we use power line adapters so have it connected to one of those. You don't even actually need to use your phone unless you want to view it remotely as you can do it all through your tv (it comes with a mouse so is used just like a computer)0 -
Another vote here for Yi cameras, great bits of kit that are easy to set up. Comes straight through to your phone, and have motion detection/auto recording onto a memory card that can be accessed via phone.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Are you sure there is no subscription? "No matter what happens to your camera or home, your footage is secure and accessible on YI Cloud. New users get one month free trial."

Positive, out of the box you get 6 seconds of motion activated clips saved to the cloud without any subscription, I have 3 of the Yi cameras.0 -
I'll ask my GF when I next see her as she installs systems for a living, although your budget is very small. For her business she sometimes monitors her own installations via an Android phone to check they're working, so I'll see if she has any ideas.
Horrible situation to be in, but maybe a motion sensor to warn you so that you can take photos with your phone if he does it again?0
