Oh that doesn't sound too bad then, I was thinking he might be harassing you. If you do answer (accidentally) then just turn the convo back to how the dog is doing as soon as he mentions money.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
This all sounds very dodgy to me, sounds like he wants paying out TWICE to me, he's harassing the OP for money when the animal is insured and the OP has already paid well past the excess. And then IF he gets all this money he is harassing the OP for he can still quite legally (from the insurance point of view) claim via his insurance. Thus getting vets bills paid, AND being money up on the deal.
Politely point out that that would put him in a position better than if the accident occurred and frankly he'll have to take you to court id he wants it and no court is going to side with him. Dont forget you'll have the vet as witness to this.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -

Thank you, I appreciate your comments. I try to see the best in people so when this first happened, I tried to do everything I could to make it easier for him, which is why I paid the initial bills. It does seem that he wants me to pay the whole bill, rather than going through insurance, although like you said he could still go the insurance route and end up in pocket. I really feel for him though as he left his dog with me in good faith and this happened.0

Bit obvious, unlikely to get many bites I reckon. Try harder next time.

Bells of Big Ben scale ring from the first few posts of each new ID. They don’t really bother disguising them!0 -

My only prayer now is that the dog's eye is ok and there's no long term problems.
It was not your fault and accidents do happen. So please do not feel guilty, there is no way you would know this would happen.
Personally I would tell the person that they need to go through insurance and that there isn't anything else you can do.
I have my doubts that they actually have insurance, but this is not your problem.
Try not to worry about it as it sounds like the dog is fine now.0
