Why is LV= still recommended in moneysavingexpert?

Hello all,
I am somewhat surprised that LV= is still recommended in moneysavingexpert article cheap-travel-insurance article
"Our top pick for high-end protection" they say, and it's been the same for at least 4 years.
I have been a LV= customer. Never submitted a claim, but they keep increasing my renewal quote every year. I just checked on their website posing as a new customer and requesting exactly the same insurance, and I get a quote which is £10 less: exactly what i was paying the year before.
I am aware that all companies seem to be doing this obvious unsustainable and questionable practice of offering better deals to unproven customers and charging more to the loyal profitable ones. But if there is obvious proof that LV= are not being honest towards their loyal customers then I think they should not be recommended in a site with the credibility of moneysavingexpert.
Trustpilot reviews do not leave LV= in a very good position either, and it is mostly customers complaining about rejected claims and expensive renewal quotes. I advise MSE to reconsider this recommendation. It could lead to perceived commercial interest on MSE side, which is bad.
Regards,
Chulinho

Ok. They called me after I complained via e-mail and explained to me that online discount only applies the first time you get a quote on-line, and that the renewal will not include this discount. And that renewing over the phone would be 20% more expensive (who would like to renew over the phone I wonder?)
Therefore, the only way to pay the price quoted is to let my current policy expire, and sign a new policy online to start on the day the old one expires
Although I appreciate the quick call and explanations from LV= attentive customer service, I still think this is a hidden hike in price for existing customers. And I cannot justify in any way the fact that customers have to go through the whole online process again in order to get a better price. It's all pretty surreal and convoluted and a waste of time.
I should be given the lowest quote as a existing customer with no previous claims. Any sort of justification for a higher price is bound to be extremely unconvincing.

My LV= story: Had a policy with them but had to change my direct debit details. Receive confirmation from them that my details have been updated. First month following the change, I receive a 'missing payment' email. Give them a call and reconfirm my new bank details with the agent who tells me the premium will be charged shortly. Two weeks later, another 'missing payment' email. This time I send them an email. Two more weeks go by and I receive a call from one of their agents responding to my email. He apologises and assures me the problem has been fixed and that my premium will be charged shortly. Two more weeks go by and another 'missing payment' email. This time I write a rather scathing email to them asking them to please get the issue sorted. Two more weeks and I've heard nothing back aside from yet another 'missing payment' email. At this point I decide to cancel my policy and go elsewhere. If they can't handle a change a bank details I wouldn't trust them to handle any insurance claim I might make.0

This is the story with any insurers - why anyone is loyal to insurers is beyond me.0
