RBS are the latest name to introduce plans to launch a bank to challenge the established Fintech brands.
What’s quite interesting is many of the articles breaking the news mention it will be in competition to Monzo and Revolut but fail to mention Starling Bank 🤔

Bo? Seriously? As the first commenter in the link posted - 'That stinks'.0

Yes does look like someone did not think how the name could also be pronounced LOL. Sure it won't put off those off its aimed at anyway,
Remember when things were "cool", "wicked", "lame" or even "sick". Who's to say next year people start using the word "stink - who then will be laughing at the alternative pronouncement/

I prefer the comment further down. BO stands for Bailed Out.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -

It's partnering with Starling to use their infrastructure. The only breaking news here is the name. It's been reported since March that RBS were developing a digital bank.
HSBC are also developing a digital bank, but that will only be for business customers.0 -
How "challenging" and independent, can a "challenger" new bank be, when its parent is a mainstream bank?
It is puzzling to me.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

RBS isn't the first heavyweight player to react to competitive market pressure from more nimble new entrants with lower cost bases by carving out a slice of the action for itself, see also:How "challenging" and independent, can a "challenger" new bank be, when its parent is a mainstream bank?

OP thanks I didn't find to read the rbs Bo news from online news during the week.
Now it's the weekend , I can read and hopefully Bo is going to be a consideration from my rbs account.
Have to admit I have been impressed with rbs digi banking since returning to them after trying a few others.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
It’s kind of made we wonder why? They never used the williams and Glyn name to launch it.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

Like BoS, but without the 'S'. That could get confusing.Bo? Seriously? As the first commenter in the link posted - 'That stinks'.
You'd think they would seek greater differentiation from the existing brand(s), and other similar ones like 'BoS' and 'B'.It’s kind of made we wonder why? They never used the williams and Glyn name to launch it.
'WG' or 'WaG' could have worked quite nicely.
