Persimmons Hatfield / Lumley living room layout

I am about to move into a persimmons Hatfield new build in about a months time, I know how I want all of the rooms but the living room is a real mystery as the show home didn't have a TV in it so it's hard to visualize
I wondered if anyone on here lives in one of these designs (or a lumley which is the 4 bed version) and would be happy to post a picture of how they have their living room laid out?.

    Hi!
We recently moved into a Lumley - I've posted a picture of the general layout.
    Hope you find this useful.
    Alan.

edit - apologies - it appears that I am unable to post pictures on this web site.
    :(
  • ah ok, thanks anyway, let me know if you upload it anywhere else and i'll check it out.

I just can't for the life of me see where a TV could go where the sofa will face it without being in the way or blocking the window! Convenient that the show home didn't have a TV!

the wall/corner between the door window is will be the only decent spot if you want to keep the window clear(window will be in front of the TV)

room for a L shaped sofa in the opposite corner.

Have you checked where the aerial cable, sat cables and sockets are in all the rooms?

Talk about teeny tiny. Where are you going to put five people in there?

Gosh, that's - er - cosy. Have you thought about putting the tv on the wall, in place of the mirror ?
  • Have a look on instagram, search for the hastag persimmonhatfield and a lot of stuff comes up.
  • Thanks for all the responses, I've had a look on Instagram, there are lots of great ideas on there so it's put my mind at ease now that I will be able to sit and watch TV in my living room!

You don't want a TV over the fire

The issue with that room dressing is a fire on the only decent wall in a room that size is just reducing options

The door placing dictates where most of the free space needs to be.

Loosing most of the biggest wall is not practical, might look good the show house but a TV on that wall does not work with where you end up with the seating.
the prime viewing spot is where the door is when the TV is on that wall.

Have a fire effect on the TV when not watching stuff.

What you do is toss your furniture in it ... then sit there - and it'll come to you how you want it over the next few weeks/months ... then you move it all again.
