Best time of year for cashback?

My current cashback deal is up this month and looking around there don't seem to be that many good deals around. Does anyone know if there is a particular time of year when the when the best cashback deals are available?
Are they poor at the moment as it is the run up to Christmas? At the moment I'm considering putting a PAYG sim in my phone until January to see if there are better deals then but was wondering if it's worth doing this.

It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

At present the days of cashback deals could be numbered. Too many people have been attacking them. Last year there was just one really good one which was around for a day or two just after Christmas, but nothing much else until a few months later. It is also the case that things have changed a LOT with the dealers since your last contract - beware all of them!0

I'm aware of the issues having read a lot of the threads on here!
It just seems at the moment that the deals aren't great and the choice of phone isn't either. It's my problem, it's my problem

Then you take your chances. What's more important - the phone or the free line rental?0

I also belive that the deals won't be much cop this year, it's definitely worth waiting for a while because there will be competition.
Even on my beloved 'Mobile Outlet' thread, there are a few wanting to start up some kind of 'Possee' to put them out of business. Fools. :mad:Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

Bit of both really.
I want a 12 month contract with at least 10 months free and a decent-ish phone. I'm currently with Onestopphoneshop who have been fine and no trouble with the cashbackm although having read the info on here I realise that has changed!
It's a pity as their online calculator was good and I liked the fact they accepted photocopies. Both of these appear to have changed now. It's my problem, it's my problem
