Further update: Had a phonecall from BW Legal today to 'invite' me to pay the outstanding balance. I have no idea how they got my number. As expected they repeatedly used language that would coerce or scare some people into paying. These guys are real crooks and I'm determined that they won't get to make an example of me.0

So block it!I have no idea how they got my number.
Since the (hopefully only temporary) exclusion of Coupon-mad from the forum, there really is no one critiquing defences, witness statements or skeleton arguments in any great depth or numbers.Does anyone have any advice regarding the defence?
The vast majority of regular posters (from my reading of the situation) aren't able to go much beyond advice up to the POPLA stage of proceedings, the debt collector stage and the very early LBC and MCOL points. There has to be a line drawn for most, as this forum is about fighting parking charges at base level, it was never intended to be a detailed and unequivocal legal advice forum. The workload even at base level is huge.
All I can suggest is that you do some research into recent past defences (last 3-4 months) by searching on keywords '<name of PPC> defence' and look at those that have been successful - and work from those as your base, and in the absence of any further input from the forum, go with what you are happy you've written, what you understand and what you might be able to articulate in front of a Judge.
HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:
Hit your 'Back' button to get back to the forum thread list. On the bar just above the threads you'll see the 'Search' function. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button and on the following page place your keyword(s) in the 'Search By Keyword(s)' and make sure the 'Show Results As' button (at the foot of the window) is changed from 'Threads' to 'Posts'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Have you submitted the defence now?
I have! It was submitted on 24th. I haven't heard any thing since. My final draft of the defence was slightly more than what is written above, largely adapted from previous posts that I believe you've helped with - So thank you! I'll keep you all updated.0 -
With regard to the scammers asking for ID, the information from the ICO is that asking for ID such as V5 is OK, but asking for photo ID is not, as they do not have (or should not) have any other photos to compare it with.
If you still haven't received the info you asked for, then I suggest send it again with a copy of the V5.
Apparently, the NTC website has been down for several days.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Hi All,
On 31st October I received a letter from BW Legal to inform me that 'their client' intends to continue with the claim, and that they confirm they have notified the court of the same. They also enclosed a copy of the directions questionnaire.
The latest update on the MCOL website says that my defence was received on 24/10/2018.
I'm unsure of the next steps from here, has anyone else had any experience of this?0 -

Unfortunately I no longer own the vehicle so I don't have a copy of the V5. I would have thought that if NTC are confident enough of my identity and address to start court proceedings against me, then they should be confident enough to provide the evidence in relation to said claim? I will be filing a complaint to the NCO as soon as I have a chance.0 -
