Buy my own wheelie bin??

Bleedin 'ell - that is a lot of waste from a little pet! Why can't you compost it? Wood shavings or paper plus manure should be an excellent addition to a compost bin.
Apparently it's the pee that is the problem which is why you can't take it to the tip. I did argue that it's in a sealed bin bag but I was still turned away and when I checked with the council they confirmed that the guys at the tip were correct - black bin or burn it.
As for composting, I do put some in my compost bin, but there is too much to do it with all of it.0 -

Well I pee in my compost bin! Lol.
If the guys at the tip ask what's in the bag, just tell them it is excess household waste. It is going to end up in the same place regardless of whether you put it in your bin at home or a residual waste skip at the tip.0 -

Ordinarily I would agree, however at our tip if you turn up with a black bag for the household waste skip they open it to see what's in it. A result of too many people not wanting to spend time sorting their rubbish.
Most of the time it's not an issue for us. Our 240l black bin is emptied fortnightly and it usually fits in. Can become a bit of a struggle in winter as they use more hay for bedding than during the summer.0
