Do they keep the whole month's money when I switch?

I want to switch from a Voda pay monthly contract but I am halfway through a billing month.

I have got the PAC code already, if I submit it to the new provider now, do I have to pay Voda right up to the end of this billing month?

If not, ie my Voda bill is pro-rated, do I also get my data allowance pro-rated?

thanks

  • Make sure you don't exceed your pro-rata bundle on everything for the shorterned period, then make sure they pay you the overpayment back. Otherwise you could rack up excess charges and then not pay, in theory at least.

No experience of Vodafone: It always appears to be very expensive to me. Depends on the contract which you should read. If you need to give notice then the notice will begin when your contract ended when the PAC was issued and continue for the specified notice period. Or they could waive the notice period when they issued the PAC. Either way any refund or bill to pay up to the end of the notice period will be in your final bill.

Notice will begin when you give give it and should be 30 days before the end of the minimum term - othewise it won't "end". If you give notice later the contract will over-run. It will also carry on if you request a PAC but don't use it within 30 days. If you give notice and then request a PAC the notice is negated.
  • What does notice negated mean?

I thought that requesting PAC means there is no notice period, if you are out of contract.

Obtaining a PAC cancels any notice of contract cancellation that you might previously have given (it sounds like you didn't).

Using the PAC terminates your service with that network. If it's not used, your contract will continue as normal.

The 30 day notice period still applies even if your contract already reached its minimum term, and if you use a PAC to end it.
