Hi
Can anyone advise why the above networks do not get a signal at ROYAL FREE HOSPITAL IN HAMPSTEAD As I have been there 2 in the last week not able to make a call or receive a call but others sitting there are getting calls and making calls

Not all networks have a strong signal in all areas its a simple fact of communications .
Find a network with strong signals for the area you want .

ID Mobile uses the 3 network and Lyca uses O2.

Also some handsets work better with a weak signal than others. There are many factors involved in connecting any phone to a network, even what a phone case is made from. . .

And in Apple's case how you hold the phone :)
  • According to the coverage maps both Three & O2 should have good coverage there but even they're only a guide.

Hospitals are notorious for poor mobile reception, many are deep buildings that screen the signals. I also suspect they've been a low priority in mobile mast planning. Some hospitals have introduced blanket wifi coverage. I found that brilliant when visiting and I was able to arrange family conference calls at the bedside. The big brand networks offer 'wifi calling' which makes your phone work with wifi as if it was connected to a strong mobile signal.
