Really need your help please

I have received 5-6 different PCNs in the form of letters from UK CPM with pictures of our car and the reason of issue was Unauthorised Parking.

The car was parked in an industrial estate because we couldn’t find somewhere to safely park on the main road outside the industrial estate/units.

The tickets were from the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th September(not sure if more will be coming in the post).

I was admitted 7am on the 5th for a day procedure and we were supposed to return home the same day so we could move the car in time to use our permit on the main road in an appropriate bay however on arriving at the hospital, the procedure was changed to an open abdominal procedure so I was admitted from the 5th - 7th and my stitches were removed on the 12th. Obviously I was unable to drive, lift or do anything else.

As soon as I knew I was going in for something more invasive, i arranged with my sister to move the car to a bay where she could use a permit but unfortunately, my sister had a nasty car accident on the evening/night of the 5th and she’s still in intensive care due to the severity of her injuries.

Due to me being unwell, my sister’s accident was kept away from me so I wasn’t told until a week or so after my surgery when I’d assumed she would have moved the car.

As soon as I could find someone who was able to legally move the car, It was moved from the location.

It’s bad enough that this is a really difficult time for my family and it’s like I’m getting this notice almost every day. Honestly, it’s giving me panic attacks whist I’m supposed to be in recovery and worrying about my sister.

Please I would really appreciate your help and advise on this, this is my first encounter with this company.

Many thanks

Why did you park on an industrial estate at all then?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • It’s close to our home and it’s quite disused. I’ve heard most residents in the area park there as an overflow when there are no spaces on the street and it was supposed to be a few hours.... I guess that turned out not to be the case

At the top of this board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. You need to read it carefully.

In it are templates to use. You need to appeal each ticket separately.
  • Thank you. Do you mean appeal separately giving the same reasons? Do I even stand a chance at all with this company?

    Which thread is that?

NEVER park on private land without authorisation; you are better off getting a Council PCN than one of these, so you would have been better off in a permit bay further along in a different street.

Several of these fake PCNs means that UKCPM will sue you, and you will be fighting a court claim in a few months, like everyone else does. And we see most people win.

You do need to read the NEWBIES thread to understand that the *appeal* is NOT designed to *work* (and it won't work because the PCNs will NOT be cancelled under any circumstances, because UKPCM are ex-clampers - such firms have no customer service ethic whatsoever).
Do I even stand a chance at all with this company?
    Not at appeal, no.

Yes in court, so get some photos of the signs (go on foot! no parking there again!).

DO NOT write telling them your tale of woe. They will see you as a victim to pursue and they will try all the harder to extort money from you.

And you need to read the third post of the NEWBIES thread too, so you do not come back here trying to do a pointless 'appeal' to the IAS. Please don't ask about the IAS. It's all in the NEWBIES thread. There is no independent appeal, this is a moneymaking practice, akin to a protection racket.

And no paying them either! OMG no.

These cases are won at court stage, later, not now (sorry but that is true). You are in it for the long haul, up against what people ere would describe as a scam firm.

Get wise and NEVER park in a place like that ever again.

Come back here at Letter before Claim/Gladstones/Court stage.

Don't ask where the NEWBIES thread is, please. My signature TELLS everyone!

  • First of all get reading the newbies section to learn more about the game your now firmly in and with multiple PCN,s you are most certainly firmly in the game.

You definitely have mitigating circumstances (hope everything works out for you all) but don't expect any sympathy or help from the PPC, they really don't care!!

You need to get yourself in the frame of mind to fight them legally, that's the only way to truly win, yes get all the evidence from your stay in Hospital and follow the good advice from the experienced posters on here then methodically and logically deal with it and hopefully (in maybe 3-9 months) you can put all this behind you :)
  • If anyone is reading this please help, I’ve received a reply to my appeal and it was rejected. Do I pay them at this stage or appeal to IAS?

Advice given to you earlier by Coupon-Mad. You now need to wait until/if you receive a LBA/LBCC then you go and read the NEWBIE sticky post #2 and information about debt collectors is in NEWBIE post # 4

You need to look at the Newbies thread again. Study it carefully, it tells you exactly what to do.

For the record any further appeals are likely to be futile. You will be bombarded with debt collectors letters. These can be ignored. You need to respond to genuine threats of court though as a person who collects multiple tickets is always going to be more likely to be taken to court.

The Newbies thread explains in more depth.

NEITHER, WE'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT! Why on this forum, do we repeat ourselves more often than the BBC?
