Accounts showing twice...

Hello,
My Natwest Debts have been sold to Cabot Credit Management Group who I have a seperate payment agreement with.
I have checked my most recent credit file and the accounts are now showing twice.
Natwest: £xxxxx
Cabot: £xxxxx
Natwest: £xxxxx
Cabot: £xxxxx
Can the accounts be listed on my credit file twice with the remaining balance on both? Doesn't this show double the amount of outstanding debt in my name?
The original default has stayed the same on both accounts, 2014 so that bit appears okay.
Thanks
Chris

What report is this on?
Have you checked all 3 CRA reports?0 -
I've checked Equifax (Clearscore) and Noddle (CallCredit).0
-
And it's showing twice on both of those?0
-
Yup. When I was on the phone to Cabot they mentioned that theres was now showing on the Credit Files. But I was under the impression the Natwest one would drop off, disappear etc?0
-
No the Natwest one will stay.
The default will still be there, but the balance will change to £0 and it will show as closed/settled/satisfied.
The Cabot account will show with the default date from Natwest, along with the amount owing0 -
Okay thanks.
At the moment they both show open and with a balance. How long should I give this to update, or should I raise a dispute?0 -
Natwest need to update the CRA’s.
They update CRA’s every 4-6 weeks, then you need to wait for your next report to be updated.
No point raising a dispute with the CRA’s as they will just advise you to contact Natwest directly.
So you could do that instead and ask0 -
Many thanks !!!. Very helpful.0

Sorry to jump on your post but did you contact Natwest to get them to update? I have the same issue with Natwest and Cabot showing the same debt so I am presuming that I will need to contact Natwest to tell them to update it.0

Why would NatWest update it?
Is the account showing as closed/settled with NatWest and a zero balance?
If so then this is correct, so long as Cabot are showing the account as open, with the balance, and the original default date from NatWest.0
