Claim Form Received from County Court Business Centre- for private parking charge notice

Hi,
First of all, thank you for the support you all provide through this site.
I have received a Parking Charge Notice from CPM (UK Car Park Management) for 'Unauthorised Parking' in a small car park. The bays are unmarked and the signs (so called contract) are barely readable attached high on the walls in small prints. I am the registered keeper but not the driver of the time.
The issue date was last year June 17 and was for £100 or reduced to £60 if payed in 14 days. It was sent to me in post with two pictures of my car in the letter. The reason was 'unauthorised parking'. Since then, I received another letter called 'Formal Demand' roughly after 40 days of the first letter where it says to pay £100.
Then I started receiving 3 DRP letters (2 in sept and 1 in Oct 17) asking to settle payment of £160. Following that, I received a letter from Gladstone Solicitors in Nov 17 asking me to settle payment of £160 and then another 'Letter before claim' in June 18.
I decided ignore them as advised in these forums etc. I never contacted or reply to any correspondence.
Now (Sept 2018), I have received a Claim Form from County Court Business Centre, Northampton asking to pay CPM £174.67 + £25 court fee + £50 legal rep fee total of £249.67.
I have kept all evidence of letters and pic of the car park including the sign they have up.
I need advise on what to do next. I have read different threads and youtube videos and all saying this is fake court. The court logos are blurred out and looks like the letter has been copied. Is this a actual court? The letter contains moneyclaim.gov password.
Please can you offer me advise on what to do next? I have 14 days to acknowledge of service then submit my defence. I can upload pics of letters and photos upon request.
Please speak to me in layman's term as I don't fully understand the process.
Thank you in advance

knowing that these are all scams, empty threat with no legal bases, nothing but harassment, I decided ignore them as advised in these forums etc. I never contacted or reply to any correspondence.
I'm concerned that you saw mistaken advice to ignore parking tickets. I am even more concerned that you saw that they are empty threats with no legal basis.
Can you show us where on this forum you saw that as it clearly needs correcting.
As you have found to your cost this is incorrect advice.
Luckily at the top of this board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. Post 2 of that thread has a comprehensive guide to the court process including a pictorial walk through of how and when to complete the online forms.
You need to study that thread for Newbies very carefully.0 -
Thanks for replying.
I am not sure what you want me to read. I can't see any links.
thanks0 -
empty threat with no legal bases,I decided ignore them as advised in these forumsI have read different threads and you tube videos and all saying this is fake court.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee!
UKCPM are currently the most litigious parking operator in the country. You will need to most definitely start dealing with this, otherwise you risk a default judgment against you, which, if not paid, will end with a CCJ and the likely trashing of your credit rating. This is absolutely a live court case.
Start with the acknowledgement of service (AOS) of the Claim (please give us the 'issue date' shown on the Claim form). The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 will guide you through all you need to do - right through the court process. Please speak to me in layman's term as I don't fully understand the process.I will never pay these scammersPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Two posts above this one on this very board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. That is the one you need to read.0

The only advice to ignore on here is ... DEBT COLLECTORS
Guess it was Gladstones who started the claim.
Did you get a LBC, letter before claim, giving you
proof of their claim and then giving you 30 days to respond
(or did you ignore that ?)
You cannot ignore this now or you will end up with a CCJ
They have added £60 which is fake.
You ignored letters from DRP which was the only good thing
you did.
DRP operate a "no win no fee" deal to PPC's and as they
did not win with you the PPC paid no fee.
Therefore CPM and Gladstones are attempting to extort
money from you which is not owed.
The courts don't like extortion merchants
Bear this in mind and go get pictures of the signs0 -
As Umkomaas says, please give us the 'issue date' shown on the Claim form.0

Hi Guys,
Thanks all for responding, including the eye openers. Yes, I do understand the importance of the Claim Form. Apologies if my post came to you out of my ignorance.
So to pick up on the questions you guys asked so far:
I have read the Newbies Thread and will continue to read it. I will use the guidance that's posted there to acknowledge the service. I will let you know as soon as that's done.
I guess my next step is to prepare the Defence?
Yes, It was Gladstone who prepared the claim.
I did ignore the letter before claim
I do not plan to ignore this as I know there will be CCJ on me.
I have taken pictures of the car park and it's signs already.
The issue date of the Claim Form is 19th Sept 2018.
Thank you0 -
I will let you know as soon as that's done.
I guess my next step is to prepare the Defense?
Was the driver legitimately visiting a firm or resident at the car park? What sort of car park was it, business or residential and can you contact the business or resident to see what their lease says about authorised people parking/rights of way, etc.?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

With a Claim Issue Date of 19th September, you have until Monday 8th October to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
Do the AoS by following the guidance offered in a Dropbox link from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Having done the AoS, you then have until 4pm on Monday 22nd October 2018 to file your Defence.
That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to hone the Defence to perfection.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as described here:
1) Print your Defence.
2) Sign it and date it.
3) Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
4) Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
5) Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
6) Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
7) Wait for your Directions Questionnaire and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES thread to find out exactly what to do with it.0
