Purchased the above TV earlier in the yeat and pleased with it.


One of the reasons for purchasing was that the TV has twin tuners, one for Freesat and one for Freeview, the TV has a recording facility to an external source (HDD or USB stick) my thoughts were thatI could watch a progtam on Freeview and record one on Freesat.


Reading the poor manual, this does not appear possible. You can only record the program you are watching.


This appears to defeat the object of having twin tuners, also it is not easy to switch between Freesat and Freeview


Am I missing something or expecting too much

My LG 55B6 has a similar setup. You can't record from one tuner and view the other but you can record from one and view an external input.


Regarding switching between Freeview and Freesat, I have setup "My Channels" with one Freeview channel i.e. 101 and one Freesat channel i.e. 106, so it quite easy to switch between Freeview and Freesat modes.

Yes. You're expecting too much. Twin tuners literally means, 2 tuners - that's what you've got. Using them both at the same time would be advertised as 'watch one, record another'.
We're always advising people on the forums that there's no substitute for a proper PVR. Wanting to have everything all in one, and one remote is fine, but there can be plenty of problems with the built in recording features of TVs.

Yes do have an ancient Humax Freeview PVR with twin tuners, possibly time to replace as sometimes tempremental and forgets (sic) to record a program, or locks up
