TSB credit files and non removal of data

I am trying to improve my credit file and have been checking regularly. I noticed that an account for the TSB was still on my Equifax report and I wondered why it was not showing closed as it was closed a while ago. I contacted Equifax to have it removed and was given a number to call the TSB. I called them and was told that although they can see that the account is closed they are not updating anyone's credit files at the moment. I went back to Equifax with this information and they confirmed this and have me another TSB number where I got the same feedback.

How do I get the information removed if it clearly should not be there. Surely I shouldn't have an issue on my file due to the TSB being unable to do their jobs?

Can anyone help?

TSB are gradually updating their reporting after the crash, my accounts are nearly up to date now. Why is it important having it removed ? Unless it is incorrectly reporting a now cleared debit balance than it is unlikely to be doing any harm. If you feel it is that important you need to raise a formal complaint with both TSB and the CRA.

I closed my credit card around April and it is still showing. I phoned them once and they said they would pass it on to the team that deals with it, but it is still there.

I'm quite resigned to the fact it will resolve itself in time. I don't see that a 0 balance account is much different from a closed one.
  • I want it saying I don't owe anything and at the moment it says I do.

How long ago is 'a while'. My credit report shows my TSB credit card last update was 31/7/18.

Interestingly it does seem to be Equifax that are behind. This month's report still shows a balance on my TSB card at April but both Experian and CallCredit show my account at 31 July.
  • You’ll need to contact TSB and ask them to update it

My credit files have now been updated by TSB after a long delay.
But this account will not be removed for 6 years. It will be shown as settled with a 0 balance.

Just raised a dispute with Equifax as there is no excuse for them not to have updated my new report yesterday as both Experian and CallCredit did it weeks ago.

Equifax have got back to me and completely failed to answer the point as usual. They have stated that my balance will be updated to £707 on my next report but this is actually the May balance. My Noddle report pulled today shows the account at £0 on 31 August so it looks like it is Equifax is the problem now.

Maybe TSB don't update equifax and they get the information from Experian. It will just take longer to show on there.
