I liked that, even though the teacher was mad and it was dangerous driving. It's good that the Judge remarked on the rip off.

£25 penalty for 'circling' apparently - i.e. if there's nowhere to drop off first go, you can't drive back round (paying a second £3) or you will also get a circling penalty on top?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Definitely no excuse for running 'Official' over BUT who the hell do these people think they are. Mr Jobsworth should have just took the registration and followed whatever scummy procedure they have for non payers.

I would have sued jobsworth for criminal damage to my car but ultimately Teacher is paying heavy price for losing his temper already, 12 month ban!!!!

I get what the judge is saying he HAS to work within the parameters of the law but it was fantastic he highlighted the rip off that Mcr airport have introduced.

    A Crown court judge

"judge agrees the charges are an 'absolute disgrace"

Something a County Court judge should take note of

Perhaps the judge was more clued up than we think
It will be an offence to clamp, tow, block-in or immobilise a vehicle without lawful authority on private land under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

however the land comes under bylaws , and RTA , therefore POFa does not relate in this case

Actually section 54 of POFA doesn't differentiate between private land and other land:-

He has a criminal record and could end up in the chokey if he re-offends, that is hardly leniency.

I have to agree with TD here. It will have an effect on his joie-de-vivre

  • I've just read this, but it's £4 for up to 30 minutes in the car park at terminal 3 where my lad lands/flys from back to Dublin, ok it's still a massive rip off but there is a free drop off point and shuttle bus to T1 and T3. There isn't any 'circling' penalty in force.
Manchester is still the biggest rip off airport in the North though, I've told my lad to land ANYWHERE if possible rather than this absolute stain of an airport.

I agree with the rip off part but "land ANYWHERE"??

Isn't that cutting your nose off to spite your face in an expensive way.
