Nelski - mmm Chicken Kiev for tea sounds delicious . I'm going to have to learn to make my own. I love the 'proper ones' (made with a chicken breast fillet, as opposed to being made with 'chopped/shaped chicken'), but they never do them with Gluten Free Coating .

I always make my own with batches of lovely juicy chicken breasts from costco then freeze them.....I certainly wouldn't use chopped/shaped chicken

A very quick google brings up lots of gluten free kievs like this one

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. TA's (((((extra)))))).

Thank you for the messages re OH. It has taken him a while to get over his hospital stay, I know the longer they are an in patients the longer it takes for them to recover. He almost managed to wash himself in the shower this morning. The CA was helping me put the new mattress topper on the bed. By the time she went back in the was drying himself. We have decided to give the new CA's a month and see how he is, at that point we may discontinue the service.

Despite the horrendous wind, which we still have, I had a decent nights sleep. Put the light out before 11 pm and woke briefly for a loo visit, finally woke just after 7 am!! Best night I have had for ages.

We do have sun, but the wind is still blowing a hooley, so no walk today, it will blow us both over.

I have ironing and I AM going to do it, regardless...........

Fish and chips tonight, OH says he will manage to eat them ok. Possibly banana for dessert with ice cream. I was going to do gammon tomorrow but have changed my mind going to do stovies, corned beef hash to you Southerners. It does not need much chewing. We have another week to go before OH gets his plate back.

Well its a 3 coat day here as my old vet used to say 1 soaked already and more rain to come. Wind is up the girlies tails again and they are NOT happy.
Waiting for a call for the vet to say when they are coming to give Scoobymare her flu jab. We had to change vets and this lot do a zone package so you don't get a call out fee ( saves £40+) but it does mean you have to hang about a bit on a Friday. They do call the night before to give an approx. time though and the vet will ring when they are about 30 mins away so not all bad.

These squalls come in like express trains.. the rain is really hard for a few minutes and then gone again.

Not a lot else going on so I shall shoot off
    Bye

oooh lovely thank you :T, Nelski - I've seen their own GF ones in the freezer section, but they're the 'chopped/shaped variety'. I never thought of checking their website for a recipe for a home-made 'proper' one.

    Morning all,
Just finished my Friday admin tasks for DH.He is popping back at lunchtime to pick up an invoice I've done for the clients so hopefully he will collect the meat from the butchers on his way, then I'm going to hitch a lift to Morries which is on the way back to work for him. If I ask nicely DS1 will come and get me once I'm done.
Awful weather here, last night we had to put the heating on to get DH & DS1s work boots and coats dry.Yeuch they have my sympathy working outside.Luckily for me there was a brief rainfree interlude for some quick dogwalking.although her coat is feeling very soft due to all the rainwater :D
I've been trying to do an order online from the Hobby place but it will not let me pay.I've just seen that our online banking had been down and now resolved but it still wont work  so dont know what's going on.
Better go and get ready for the supermarket etc...
    Nelski-recipe looks yummy :D
Csarina-pleased OH seems to be improving.
Snoozer glad youre enjoying your hols
Dumpling- I'd have been mad too!

Really nothing terribly interesting to report; mine is a pretty "same old, same old" life I'm afraid.

However, I shall have to go and take Bluebell for her afternoon walk in a moment, so I thought I'd drop by and post first. ;)

    Afternoon folks.

My unstructured day has been good so far. I took two unwanted items to the tip at Oban - there's a company there which takes in stuff to sell. They also take electricals, something most CSs don't do.

Then I went onto the centre of Oban aiming to fill up my car at the giant T esco there. Generally I'm not a fan of the brand. I found that the space vacated by L idl has become an M& S food hall.:j L idl has built a huge place further along the road so it's still there, alongside is also an A ldi so plenty of choice.

I've also been to the docs, I've got a weird lesion on the top of my chest which I've been 'treating' with all sorts of ugents, potions and lotions to no avail. So I phoned the surgery this morning, there's a system of having a telephone consulation with a doc first before anything else. I was offered an appointment with a nurse advanced praticioner who is a skin specialist. She's given me a stronger cream and thinks it's a fungal infection. The lesion is very small, round, rough and with smooth edges - nothing to worry about!

The weather has been most odd - long periods of bright blue skies with sunshine followed by short periods of intense rain showers. Most disconcerting.

I feel I've been productive despite having 'nothing to do' at first light.

  • silver oldie - Is it possible to take your mum out occasionally when you visit - even if it's just for 'a trip around the block' well wrapped up, of course - would that perhaps stimulate her interest

DH has dementia and is always with me not sure I could manage. Also I'm sure mother would expect/demand to go out every visit if I tried, think petulant child.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.

Sorry to hear that your DH has dementia and that you're also 'managing' his situation as well as your DM's . Such a difficult position to be in - between DH and DM :(. Fully understand 'the petulant child syndrome' ;)!

Hope you're in touch with whatever support facilities your local authority have for people with Dementia and their families.

    ((((HUGS)))) for you all :).
