Ripped off on the Post Office Travel Money Card
RG1889
I have just returned from a rare trip abroad to Croatia.
I purchased a PO Travel Money Card and pre-loaded it with £150 worth of Croation Kuna. I later added £200 to it whilst away.
In addition I took 800 Kuna with me.
I was only away a week and most times used my credit card but a lot of places wouldn't take the card so had to use cash.
I took three lots of cash out of the card in local currency a total of 1800 Kuna but was charged a further 275.29 Kuna for the privilege.
The Post Office are trying to say I didn't use them correctly (3 different ATMs) but I used English as the language then did everything in local currency. One didn't give me a receipt and am now trying to track down which institution it was (not having much luck).
Am really unhappy about this as this is a mega rip-off. Any thoughts do I have a claim? On top of that the PO have charged £2 for each transaction as well.

It's unclear what happened to you, but your basic mistake is to use such a card in the first place.
Stay away from the Post Office, supermarkets and travel agents for cards (or cash). Keep your money in pounds until conversion at ideal rates without fees at the time of payment or ATM withdrawal, using cards from Starling Bank, Monzo, Metro Bank (Europe only), Revolut or Loot .io - or the various 'travel' credit cards of course.Evolution, not revolution0
