bellabella - I'm not going on holiday, nmlc is.
The day is being odd, bright sunshine followed by bouts of stormy rain and wind. Helena was the remnants of a tropical storm which was blowing out over the Atlantic, it came from the Azores which is why the temperature remained moderate. That was three or four days ago. Yesterday was our own home-grown Storm Ali - probably the first of many!
The next one is coming:
The Met Office said that Bronagh will develop across parts of Wales and south-west England during Thursday evening before spreading further eastwards across England.
I've been fielding emails all morning and now about to head off into the awful weather for my teaching session. Doing it from home sounds really tempting though I've got two 'live' students in my local college.
After that I need to do a little light shopping.0 -
Hi everyone,
Bucketing down here since lunchtime-shame ,it was quite nice until then.Took DGS to school this morning,he was very clingy with DSbut he's had a lot of change recently, - starting 'proper' school, his Mum going back to work after mat leave after being at home nearly a year, and now his grandad ( his Mums dad) has gone into the hospice so bound to be a lot going on,poor things. We're just trying to help out with him as best we can.
My hairdresser came this morning so I no longer resemble a shaggy sheepdog. We had a good catch up as I used to work with his wife, not seen him for a bit,my last cut was July! I managed a quick tidy once I got back from school before he arrived so I'm going upstairs to do some cardmaking shortly.'Me time' for a change
I'm going to cook a small gammon joint in the pressure cooker for tea so that won't take long, not sure what to have with it,I used all the chips up last night and I don't think I have enough spuds for us all- looks like egg and beans then :rotfl:
Hope you have a good day shopping Holly xx
Nelski, hope today at work is as good

Thanks taff, I think. The description of Nanny Ogg fits me to a T "Short, dumpy and a face like a friendly raisin." :rotfl:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Brilliant evening out at the library and Lesley Pearse was extremely funny and informative and well worth the effort of turning out to see.Well done again Medway Libraries for putting on another great evening for their readers.
Just off to bed for a read ,DGS Ben has an interview tomorrow for a job and I promised to drive him there at lunchtime Fingers crossed He has applied for so many jobs and yet has had no luck yet ,even with a 2.1 degree in English Lit.He even applied online today for a temporary christmas job with the post office to deliver mail. He tried to get on a course at his Uni in Norwich to do his PGTC but it was oversubscribed so he has to try again next year so needs a job to keep him solvent until then
