EE - End of contract query
Tomorrow Im due for an upgrade according to EE, the 20th September. However the contract ends 3rd November. Ive seen their so called upgrade deals and they are double what ID mobile and others are offering on a sim only monthly contract.
My question is can and should I cancel now or wait till the 3rd of October and hope they give me a better deal? Your view please?

Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.

Wait until you are closer to end, look around for what others are offering then ring up and ask for a PAC. They will ask why you are moving away and you will then get put through to retentions who will likely match or even better the competition.
One thing to be aware of though is that you will not get, for instance, a £10 tariff but you will get a £20 tariff with a £10 discount. When you get the inflation price increase it will be based on the £20 tariff so at 3% your tariff will go up to £20.60 less £10 so £10.60 instead of £10.30.0 -

So basically anytime after the 3rd of October then? Is it 30 day notice I reckon?Old Faithful we roam the range together,

Are you currently sim only ? If so you can go beyond the end of contract and simply carry on paying what you currently are.0

Upgrade offers are invariably much higher than new user offers. Get your PAC in time to use it after end of minimum term, port the number out to a temporary PAYG SIM. Then get a better deal and port it back in, be it to EE or another provider. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

As is said many times on here, avoid being sucked into the "I'm due an upgrade", you are not due anything. Make sure your mobile is unlocked (the network has to do it at the end of the minimum term, by request), then once unlocked, as others said ask for your PAC and walk away.
SIM only gives you much greater choice and flexibility, above all else check carefully the terms and conditions for items such as call spending caps, what happens if you reach your data limit? Do the costs rise annually by RPI?
For a good reference point, SIM only on Three doesn't currently increase in price annually, you can turn on/off out of bundle call spending yourself via the My3 app, and (I think) data just stops when you use all your monthly allowance up. Check what EE, Voda, etc. have with regard to the above... they are full of excuses!

The only thing I'd add to that is if you use an MVNO such as Plusnet for instance who don't support shortcodes or WiFi calling, there may be other features that you only get with your current supplier.
Always do your research BEFORE changing suppliers as any whinging after the fact will just get (rightly) derided.0
