Sorry I have no clue, I just rent the place. The landlord is useless, he didn't even know if there was a dish up.0 -

Well before you go putting connectors on then make sure there is an aerial or else youll still get nothing.
To be honest the poster above who said get a fire stick is probably the best answer or try tvplayer app on your tellyDont rock the boat

Unfortunately, the first step in working out what services you can use is to identify the infrastructure already installed in the property. This is can prove tricky (especially since some cables may no longer be connected to anything useful at the other end).
If you can establish that there is a satellite system installed, you could also consider Freesat or Freesat from Sky.0 -

OP mentions NowTV smart box ... he probably doesn't need a FireTV stick.0 -
For the sake of the small amount it costs I would buy the coax connector and put it on the end of your cable plug it into your TV
Then go to installation on your TV and scan for channels and when the scan has finished see if you get any channels found!0 -

Thanks all, I'll trying putting a connector on the cable first and testing it before I do anything else. If that works then I'll be able to use the Now TV. Starting to think I should just have transferred my Sky now..........0

See post #2 (assuming the box has those apps, or can have them installed).0 -

Over the Internet, yes. Using a Now TV box, no. Of the free players on the box, I believe only ITV Hub has live players. (Not sure about BBC iPlayer, as I don't use it). C4, C5 and UKTV definitely don't.
Based on post #19, I have a feeling that the OP is talking about a Now TV Smart box, anyway, which incorporates a Freeview receiver.0
