Just as an update. Spoke to SC as soon as the lines opened this morning and explained the situation. Very understanding, and I expressed my regret. Remaining on SC managed DMP for now. One good thing that has come out of this is that the idea of having to go self-managed made me set up a document with all the relevant reference numbers, contact details etc. of the creditors etc. which are normally on the My DMP portal which SC provide but the mini panic forced me to be a bit more proactive and independent. If the day comes where I have to go self-managed then I am quite certain it is not some insurmountable situation.
  • Hello you lovely lot! Setting up a DMP with step change currently and just sent off our letters to creditors. Is there any additional letter or template for asking them to only contact by letter?

How about “please contact me in writing only” ? Just an idea.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound daft. I’m just completely terrified of doing something wrong and messing this all up further.

My mental health is in the toilet and I don’t know if I could handle phone calls. Guess I’ll just put my big girl pants on.

Well, under the new GDPR rules, you have the choice of how you can be contacted, so just tell them, its really that simple.

Hi I just wanted to pitch in that I have a nonenforceable PRA account and they just offered that I can buy it out at 65 % after not paying for about a year. I still buy it out, as I have other loans to pay out, but incase anybody else is with PRA I just thought I would share. They send me an email every month, and I just basically ignore it :-)

Had a text message today from AIC with regards to my debt with Barclaycard saying they've sent me a letter and I need to contact them.  As far as I know, I was dealing with Barclaycard for my debts and i've never had any contact with this firm.  Anyone know anything about them?
