Haven't had that happen, but when I was young, we had our family car stolen. A green Morris Oxford. It drove past us while we were walking down Frenchay Park Road in Bristol. We called the police from a phonebox and the car was recovered.0

Yes often.
where? on the road
not sure why I am replying though0 -
I saw an advert in a Halifax garage for my old Camaro and as it broke our heart to sell it I we went to buy it back as a hobby / weekend car as we now had the space for it off road.
It was immaculate when I sold it to a guy who "just wanted to use it for shows".
We turned up at the garage to see it as an absolute wreck, dents in just about every panel, mould on seats from leaking T-Tops, and amazingly 30K less miles than I sold it at 5 years earlier.
Wish we had never seen the advert.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Yes. Spoke to the owner of one. By then it had 140,000 on the clock, I sold it at 75,000.
I also saw one for sale in a garage which had a mileage of 35,000. When I sold it it had 65,000!0 -
At dealership which bought it and I know next owner is local to it but I've never seen a car. But considering it does 2000 miles per year, it might be rather difficult to see it on the road at all. I check MOTs and mileage of all my old cars from time to time, just out of curiosity. All still on the road, most do 5K per annum, so have easy life.0

Once or twice, yes.
One car I passed-on to a family member who didn't drive much and needed a runabout, I got a better price for my next car with a cash offer instead of a trade-in - She got at least another five years out of it, so I saw it fairly regularly.
Another when I was a student was bought by a guy in a similar position, a couple of years younger than myself. We occasionally went to the same pub, so I would see it in the car park.
An old motorbike was bought by a nurse who lived in the country for commuting but she didn't get-on with the heavy traffic around the hospital, so her husband took it over instead of his much larger/more exotic machine - His commute crossed mine and I often saw him in the morning or at night. Occasionally I saw them at other bike related things and he said that for reliability, it was the best bike he ever owned - I actually wish I'd never sold it.0 -
Not my car but I used to see one of my dad's old motability cars on and off for about 3 years after he returned it, the new owner must have lived near to me.0

Yes. A Peugeot 505GRD Family Estate.
My eldest daughter bought it from me at a bargain price and ran it for a few more years before selling it on herself.
Therefore saw it many times. I did see it once not long after she sold it.
Although a very robust and ultra reliable vehicle it has inevitably entered a car graveyard somewhere.0 -
Yes I sold one locally, actually the buyer used to live in the same house coincidentally. Still see it around. I gave him a fair price and am glad it's worked out0
