So Afraid!!!!!!

  • What an awful thing to have happened to you, Amani. This is just plain abuse and I hope the Police deal with it as seriously as they should. This is the worst kind of thing to happen to people - people should not fear going out their front door because of the way the scummier members of our population behave.

My neighbours used to get abuse from a group of kids because the old woman went out to ask 4 teenagers to stop kicking their ball off her car. Within a month the elderly couple had their car windows smashed 4 times, stones thrown at their windows every night, their entrance porch set on fire...................the Police just did not take it seriously. I caught one of them vandalising our bollard lighting one night, phoned it in to the Police and they showed up SIX WEEKS LATER to take a statement!!! But, when they did react it was quick and there were no problems after that - the ringleader of the kids causing the bother was also given a quiet word by the elderly woman's son (who happened to be back on leave from Iraq) and his family moved away within about 2 weeks. Can't possibly think what he said to them, but the problem was over as soon as the Police got involved. It sounds as if your Police are more responsive than the keystone cops here in Edinburgh!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Thank-you for all you lovely messages of support, I really appreciate(sp?) them.

UPDATE We did not have any trouble last night (thanks ALLAH). Even though we did not have any trouble we were constantly listening for sounds outside. My stomach just starts churning when dusk comes.

Im a little worried about tonight as hubby works afternoons regular 1pm to 9pm. So there is just me and the children at home until he gets home at 9.45pm. hopefully they wont return again and I have total faith in the police officers that came to my home last night. If anything does happen I will call the police straight away.

    AGAIN THANKS FOR EVERYONES SUPPORT

Determined everything was quiet again last night.

My sons returned from school yesterday, there had been alot of comments about the incident on Saturday, so lots of people know about it. They also had a few names passed to them. The boys at school are saying that my hubby threatened them with a knife which is totaly untrue. I have let the school know what happened, they said they will leave it to the police to sort out but will speak to my sons and reasure(sp?) them. The police officer said she would try and visit the school on Wednesday.
