Mr Central Heating- any good?

This looks really cheap, but is it any good and will it do the job?

Good afternoon: Which boiler are you considering?

    Canucklehead

Well to be honest, I have two houses that have old boilers

House 1 Boiler feeds 4 radiators downstairs and 4 upstairs, also heats water into an imersion tank- so whatever boiler is appropriate for that??????

House No.2 OLD Combination boiler, feeds 3 bedrooms upstairs, no heating downstairs but im looking to have radiators installed downstairs, water heated via combination (instant)

So any advice appreciated really and indication on costs to have items installed would be great.

Good evening: Your best bet is to get a CORGI first who will agree to fit a boiler purchased by you (discussed very recently here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=579353 ) He/she will be able to spec the system for you i.e. output/type of boiler, rads etc.

  • In regards to the original question, mr central heating is VERY good. Very cheap packages (boiler, rads & pipe)

If buying from there remember, you can only fit condensing boilers (mr central heating sells non condensing) so make sure you get the right ones

Also buy copper pipe. Personal opinion but plastic is rubbish
  • We had one of their package deals (2 bed semi). The plumber gave us advice and said he thought they were very reasonable. I even had some copper pipe left over to make a bay curtain pole that the plumber bent then I sprayed up! Delivery was no problem. Just be careful as it tends to be the non condensing advertised mostly. The plumber charged us £650 to fit it all but we did all the prep work and sorting channels and floorboards out. All the bits that take time.

Just found this site, looks pretty cheap to me, especially if you just want a replacement boiler.
