Will I go back to o2 PAYG? On pay monthly sim only deal? £17 10GB Data
Hello
I'm on 02 sim only monthly deal of £18 per month for 10GB Data, unlimited calls and texts. My contract is up so can change tarrifs. It's currently on offer at £17.
Been checking on my usage and my average is 5GB data, 200 texts and 850 minutes.
Not sure to stay on the same 10GB sim only deal or to go back to PAYG?
I see PAYG big bundles deal is 5GB 1000 minutes, 5000 texts for £15 and includes data rollover of up to 5GB
o2 is the best coverage where I'm at. Not such to stay on pay monthly sim only or go back to PAYG?

If 5GB is your average then at times you'll end up paying whatever horrendous rate they charge per MB. For the sake of just £2 a month I'd say that's not worth the worry. If you have Sky and can get their mobile sim then it'll cost you less and you'll still be on the O2 network. Tesco & Giffgaff also do better deals (both on the O2 network), at least use them as ammo if you talk to O2 again0

Look for the cheapest deal you can find on any network for your data requirements, regardless of whether you would have network coverage. Then call O2 and ask for your PAC, tell them what you intend moving to when they ask. See what they offer you to match it. There's no need to accept or decide immediately (or to use the PAC and terminate the contract).Evolution, not revolution0

Yeah very true as they do charge alot if you go over your data. Don't have sky, will have a look at tesco and giffgaff.Colin_Maybe wrote: »If 5GB is your average then at times you'll end up paying whatever horrendous rate they charge per MB. Could be worth a call to retention team to see what they can offer me. I'll ask for PAC code to!Look for the cheapest deal you can find on any network for your data requirements, regardless of whether you would have network coverage. You have to careful doing that with Virgin Mobile(?) as they automatically move you from a contract on to PAYG when you request the PAC regardless of whether you use it or not.0 -
That O2 deal is very expensive. Three have 30GB, unlimited mins and texts, unlimited viewing of TV via "Go Binge" (doesn't come out of the 30GB)... £17/month.
Even if you don't want to switch, it's a good bargaining comparison.

It is requesting your PAC that gets you put through to the retentions team. Doing it that way and showing an intention to move to a real cheaper provider will enable them to make their best offer to retain you. Just asking for a better deal without that is not as effective.Could be worth a call to retention team to see what they can offer me. I'll ask for PAC code to!
