Out of the country... low or zero standing charge suppliers

I will be out of the country for 10 months per year over the next 3 years and will be returning for holidays.

I would therefore like to get a zero standing charge tariff if that is still possible.

Although I will be back at Christmas for about four days each year I will be returning for two months each summer when hopefully I will not be using much gas.

Of course through the winter I will need to leave the heating on low.

Which is the best supplier for me?

Thanks

M.

    Ebico is the obvious choice
  • Thanks but isn't ebico just for credit meters?

I think that Ebico have now dropped the no standing charge s tariffs for prepays. Their Ebico Zero Green Energy tariff is only for credit meters
  • If you are on prepay, you could try Utilita.

Consulting a comparison site to find the best deal for you would be the obvious choice.

The zero standing charge tariff(s) they offer are indeed only available via a credit meter.

But they may still be the best supplier for you. As I said, consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you.

If you have a PPMs, and are intending to use some energy whilst you are away for extended periods, then the possibilty to top up remotely/online may be something you wish to consider. You don't want to run out of credit whilst you are away.

Also, if you are going to use s9ome energy, a zero standing charge tariff may not be the best deaol for you.

I think I've mentioned how you should find the best deal for you

*cough * Consult a comparison site *cough*
  • technically "outfox the market" don't have a daily charge but they do have a monthly membership fee [I think?] of between £6.99 and £13.99 depending if you are a low, medium or high energy user.

so if you were on the low membership fee that would be £84 annually which could be interpreted as a daily charge of 11.5p per day per utility [gas & electricity]

but do as others have said and consult a comparison site
  • @MarkXy, are you getting mixed up about CREDIT and PREPAY ?

What kind of meter do you have ?
