Flight delayed from US

I recently travel to Orlando on holidays with my family, my return flight was delayed overall by about 13 hours. I booked through Air France and flew with Delta Airlines. I have since submitted a claim to Air France. This claim was rejected as they have stated that my flight was operated by an non EU airline and outside the European Union. My outward bound flight departed from Dublin and returning to Dublin (therefore departing and returning to the EU). Has anyone else had a similar experience and is the information they have stated correct or have I a claim for compensation. I would be grateful for any other information. Many thanks

Yes, that is correct.
Non EU carrier (Delta) departing non EU airport (Orlando) is not covered by EU regs
Your outward journey would have been, but not your return journey.

No. It's the operating carrier.
Have you checked whether you can claim on your travel insurance?2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs (offset): 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07,
