Having once sent in a MMD that was featured, there were still sceptics doubting its authenticity.

I don't really understand why people start screaming when MSE post a possibly fictitious MMD, but happily accept the nonsense that random users post without complaining. If you don't like it, then just move on.

Could it be because we expect people employed by mse:money:to behave better than some random user? Or maybe that there are other issues with the site that they could be focusing on such as helping out the voluntary board guides? Or that it's patronising to users who don't post a load of nonsense to add even more fake dilemmas to the site?

Moving on is obviously an option for an individual but that won't resolve it.

Mostly the issue with these compared to normal threads:
The threads are usually very abridged versions with barely any information.

That means there simply isn’t enough to give accurate or correct advice as there are too many ‘if this then that, but if if not then...’

9/10 there is no follow up from the OP so we never get the info and it’s never resolved and it’s just a bunch of opinions based on assumptions, or people asking for more info.

I agree with the O/P - they do irritate the !!!! out of me.

What bemuses me more though is that people actually respond and debate it.

^^^^ This 100%. There was a MMD a while back about some issue to do with a camera and part of it was that the person had no insurance. Of course, it was simple to reply, 'should have had insurance'. The person who emailed in the dilemma then joined the site to talk about it more and the situation re the insurance was far more complex than 'they didn't have any'.

Whilst I see the need to edit what might be a long question, missing out vital information makes it all a bit pointless.

But they’re always people who ONLY come to the forum for the MMD, they have about 20 posts in 5 years or something!

They also seem to be the only people who like them.

Don't you have friends/family to ask for advice?

That's good if the person joins in the discussion.

I still don't understand why they wouldn't start their own thread though.
