Well - "bully" for you :-D :-D0 -

Humpty, I presume the 'bully for you' was a pun, because you mentioned hockey. I know hockey games no longer start with a bully, perhaps the joke got a bit lost?0

Oh god, I would have honestly found that beyond mortifying as a teenager. I would certainly never have gone back to PE ever again.
Even if that happened now, I would find nothing about it hilarious
And not only for that day, I know how cruel teenage girls can be, and stories like these and nicknames relating to it can go on for years , and forever be known as the girl who flooded. I know at school, all I ever wanted was to shrink and 'fit in'.
PS - the ''bully for you'' comment, was a joke ref Hockey. Did you guys never ''Bully off'' at the start of the game? It wasn't the dig you took it for. People do get embarrassed about perfectly normal events...I mean we all Poop, but I wouldn't want to do it in front of anyoneWith love, POSR0 -

JOKE ....it was meant as a JOKE! After all, we would "bully off" t0 start a game - remember ground - sticks, ground sticks, ground BALL! And its been a long, long time since anyone thought of me as a delicate little flower0 -

I don't remember girls being cruel when I was a teenager, although I know everybody says it now.
My main embarrassment about periods at school involved the fact that neither my mum nor the school had mentioned the fact that having your period meant that you didn't need to have a (communal) shower after PE. In fact the information she'd provided emphasised the the fact that you could shower and bathe then and the importance of cleanliness. I made daft excuses for several months before noticing the fact that other girls had just written p in the register and the penny clicked.:o0 -
Not everyone plays hockey at school. My mum did. Not in my time. Not everyone will know the reference0

In almost 5 decades on this planet I've never known of any girl or woman to find it 'hilarious' when her sanitary protection let her down, either. Not everyone plays hockey at school. My mum did. Not in my time. Not everyone will know the reference
Clearly, but it is quite well known. The joke obviously got a bit lost on the recipient.0 -
Only the truly monstrous would be against this. Simple.
I was largely avoiding this topic, because I don't understand the stigma and embarrassment involved.
But this comment is just so frustrating.
There are literally dozens of legitimate reasons to be against this, and none of them are 'monstrous'. But lets just cut the debate because Matt's spoken...0
