T-Mobile PAC code charge ????

Options
I have numerous contracts in the family and have alway got the Pac code within the last month for bargaining and changing operators
However in last month of 18month Flext35 contract on T-mobile , called up and was told I would be charged £28 for the Pac code ???
Never had to pay anything with any other operator before - is this right or did I get an uninformed sales rep ?

Did you ask the rep what the charge is for?

    If not, call back.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

I suspect that payment is to clear an outstanding balance, or perhaps the minimum term contract period has not quite elapsed? The PAC itself should be free - this is your legal right.

No its not. If they wanted to raise a charge they could, although most suppliers dont normally do so.

Everyone has a legal right to be issued with a PAC code in order to move a phone number to another network. This should be issued free of charge, though technically a network could charge an administration fee if they saw fit.
  • It's more than likely that you are asking for the PAC just a bit before your contracted term is due to end. Ask the date that the commitment ends and phone up that day to ask, then it'll not cost you anything.

Not saying that the PAC does cost mind you, just they'll charge an early termination as a PAC is seen as a sign of cancellation.

I have no issue in paying the rest of the contract but they are telling me that I must pay the charge and the last month - surely that's not right

I also spoke to the T-mobile requesting my PAC as I am un the last month of my contract. Was told that I will have to pay £10 if I request my PAC during my contract.
I was suggested to request the PAC on the last day of my contract.

When I questioned this on the grounds that I will be charged for the next month, I was told that I will be charged on for few days_ the time it takes to transfer the PAC to another provider which takes a max of 5 days
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T
