Oh goodness, this can’t be serious.
Handle-less installations are far from the norm - the onus is on YOU to make sure the product is suitable.
You didn’t have to use it, you chose to use it. They didn’t know you lived in a flat and it’s not their fault you didn’t have room to keep both.
Their offer is more than fair - snap their hand off and use this as a learning opportunity to do your own research next time.0 -
So you didnt know whether it would be suitable or not - or perhaps even that there was a difference - but its AO's fault for not explaining that it might not fit your particular kitchen door type?
It sounds like you as the customer didnt do your homework first, before purchasing.
Sorry, but they're giving you a decent part refund for something thats really not their fault.
An integrated appliances should be compatible with any door front that you want to fit on to it. It's not about whether or not you do research! you wouldn't know until you had the product in front of you with a copy of the instructions as to whether it was suitable.
Modern kitchens tend to come with either one of TWO options 1: with a handle that fits to the door or 2: A handleless option where the handle is built into the door itself, thats TWO! Not ten or twenty different options. Surly as a manufacturer or a supplier they could state which option out of the TWO the fridge freezer Is suitable for0 -

Yes I understand I made a mistake with regards to using the fridge freezer but that was unavoidable. Yes I will learn my lesson, but as to be told to do my research in future, I think you're wrong.
Look at AO.com's integrated section and you tell me how I'm supposed to know? And if you try to tell me that everyone who buys an integrated appliance from them researchers it, well that's utter BS0 -
No, they don't need to do that. As others have stated it is you as the buyer who is responsible for making sure a purchase is compatible with anything else you own. They aren't expected to list compatibility with every potential option, regardless of the number of options.
In your shoes I'd take the offer, or ask if they'll increase the offer if you were to repurchase with them, but their offer is more than fair.0 -
The problem is that you chose a door on door integrated fridge freezer and what you bought is perfect for 99.9% of standerd kitchen doors
A kitchen designer with any sense should have informed you that you needed a slider door fixing model for handless doors
Personally id sell the fridge freezer privately and get a bit more for it0 -
I don't think you understand what I'm trying to explain.

Seems you have not been to many kitchen showrooms. There are more than 2 door options. The Aluminium framed doors have totally different hinge and handle options.
Not everyone will know what fits which is why they ask their supplier or buy the appliances with the kitchen.
You chose to get the appliance yourself to save money and failed to check properly.
You were not the first and wont be the last, seen customers buy 900mm wide hobs and puzzled why the fitter cannot fit it into the 600mm space they designed the kitchen for. Or where they try and squeeze a standard fridge freezer into an appliance housing.
Knew someone that had a stainless steel sink where they left the protective plastic cover on for well over 12 months. They asked why it was peeling. Rep went out and removed the protective film.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If you had done research beforehand then you would have known this and wouldn't have ordered the incorrect one. I can guarantee that you would easily be able to find the instruction manual online to be able to check this before you bought it.0 -

As I suspected, the instructions are available online but not the door mounting instructions there only inside the appliance so the OP couldn’t have checked that till he got delivery
CCR allows customers the right to inspect as you would in a shop and then could have being returned, this Leisure/Beko appliance is 100% repackagable if packaging is removed correctly, it’s just unfortunate in this case the OP went ahead and started using it before checking if it was suitable for his doors0
