Complaining to Amex

Hi All,

Is there an email address to allow complaints to be sent to Amex in relation to their credit cards?

  • Their complaints procedure only allows for written complaints by post or verbal complaints by phone. My preference would be to only use the written format...
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

I logged a complaint on Friday, I was to be called back on Monday. Today when I called I was hung up on.

I think you've got unlucky, I'd just try again, my experiences with Amex have been nothing short of excellent, in both the UK and Australia.

Amex also offer live chat, which is very helpful, I find.
  • I personally prefer email, live chat or other written options... so many opportunities for them to give you false promises over the phone that they never intend to honour.

Doesn't look like they readily advertise an email address.
  • Can always try sending an email to the ceo, complaints generally are handled very fast in this manner:

    rafael.g.marquez@aexp.com

Thanks, that might be the best way forward.
  • Does the complain really warrant that level of escalation?

If I get no follow-up on my second complaint then I can see no other option, I will await a few more days though.
  • Usually emails to CEOs don't ever reach them - their assistants will usually forward them on to the relevant complaints department. Useful if you can't find a way to contact complaints yourself, but otherwise no real advantage to doing so
