Has anybody hear of or have had the following experience?
Long Story short...
I am currently with BT for Fibre BB and Phone and wanted to reduce costs.
Place order with Talk Talk Mid Aug 2018.
BT send email saying that my phone has gone to TT, but my BB is staying with them.
TT spend the next three weeks toing-and-froing before saying that they cannot port my existing phone number and I should cancel the order, so they can allocate me a new number.
I cancel order on their recommendation and they say resubmit an order 24 hours afteras this is a requirement of their system.
I ring 24 hours after and they say they can't supply my with either a phone or broadband as this is not available in my area!! I explain the situation at length and the answer is still the same.
BT now say that because I have no number they don't know how my BB is still working and say "it will proboably go off anytime now..."
So now I have no working phone and no BB. I can't even do price comparisons as my phone number does not show up as working, so not speed or availability check...
I've had that phone number for over 18 years and it's the one that all emergency contacts have etc so it's going to be a pain to change.
More than that though, how are an ISP able to take your phone number and then delete it??
Has anyone had a similar experieence of a failed provide and a deletion of their phone number??
What happens now? I guess I could go get another line, but what about reclaiming my old number??
Where has it gone to?? Phone number heaven?? :A
I'm an IT guy, so you can throw jargon at me btw...
