Ryanair Mis-selling - and no refund

I booked a flight with Ryanair this morning, the standard flight was £18.76 per person and the blurb below it had cabin bags greyed out. So I assumed that I get no cabin bags but I need cabin bags, I get to the next step and it suggests adding Family Plus for £52.28 more to get baggage allowance. So I add that and pay. I later find out that with the standard fare includes checked baggage so I call ryanair to get a refund on my £52 and they won't give me. What can I do?

Thanks

Is it Ryan airs fault you assumed that?

A quick Google for a random flight and Google flights says
    Baggage info
Ryanair allows passengers to board with one small item, such as a handbag or laptop bag. Passengers who pay a fee may also bring one piece of carry-on baggage to stow in an overhead bin. The fee for checking your bag is €/£8 for bags up to 10kg, and €/£25 for bags up to 20kg, for each flight. This policy applies to tickets purchased after 1 September 2018 and flights boarding on 1 November 2018 and after.
Estimated bag fees for your entire trip:
    Personal item: Included
    Carry-on: from £12
    1st checked bag: £50 – £70
    2nd checked bag: £50 – £70
Fees may be higher if paid during check-in.

Our Cabin Bag Policy will be updated for Ryanair flights departing from November 1st. Only customers who purchase Priority & 2 Cabin bags will be allowed to bring 2 bags on board. Customers without Priority & 2 Cabin bags can only bring 1 small bag (40cmx20cmx25cm) on board. Alternatively customers can purchase a 10kg Check-in Bag which must be dropped at the check-in desk. For flights departing before November 1st, the old cabin bag policy applies and customers without Priority & 2 Cabin bags can bring a second bag of 10kg to the boarding gate free of charge. • I assumed as my flight is booked AFTER 1st September for travel BEFORE 1st November. There is no where on the website saying I get carry on luggage and no where to purchase just carry on luggage.
  • I'm trying to upload photos for you to see what I mean but I have to upload photos somewhere?
  • It looks like the website has been updated to reflect the changes as at travel after November 1st so it doesn't show that you get baggage with standard fare. It actually is greyed out as though you do not get cabin baggage. At the page where you go to buy your flight there is no Help link or anywhere saying anything about baggage, you have to go back to the home page and find the terms and conditions and find the information about baggage. It contradicts what is on the checking out page which says you do not get any cabin baggage.
  • Its not missold. if you had clicked through with the standard fare, the next page has a big statement in orange background (so that you cant miss it)

  • I’ve just done it again and I don’t see any notice as you suggest at any step when I go through to book. I’m booking flights in October, one way from london to Glasgow if it makes any difference. There is absolutely no statement with an orange background and when you click compare fares it has nothing about cabin baggage for standard fare. I’ve been saving screenshots of every page in case they update the website as I’m sure this is a bug in their system there is no where on my browser showing thatyou get cabin baggage for flights before November.
  • select standard fare and click to confirm. next eith choose or skip seat selection. you are then offered priority. close off pop up and there you are.
I really cant work out what you are doing wrong
  • I’ve done as you said and nope no message at all. What browser are you using? Are you doing this on a phone or computer? I’ve tried on two browsers on an iPhone and that notice is on neither.
  • Ok so I can confirm that this is a fault with their MOBILE site. I've just tried it on my laptop and can confirm that I see the text about cabin bag policy. What do I do now?
