has anybody won the C2W's recently?

Just curious if anyone's won anything recently, doing some research!

  • Not me... I haven't done them every day, though. Just when I can be bothered, it's a bit of a pain!

From the winners list on Thats Life (which just means the competition was on there not that that was the entry route used) I noticed these 2 people have both won 2 competitions out of the last 42 (first name, initial and county)

    Win an Evertop cleaning robot
    Win a £50 Primark voucher

Win a PureAire Basic Air Purifier
Win Autoglym Bodywork, Wheels & Interior

and by coincidence their surnames both start with the same initial and they are from the same county

Likely multiple wins by other people include

Win a copy of VERSAILLES on DVD
WIN A QUIET PLACE ON BLU-RAY

Win a Blu-ray copy and poster of BEAST
Win a waterproof case for your tablet

Win a Blu-ray copy and poster of BEAST
WIN A QUIET PLACE ON BLU-RAY

And the clear leader with 5 wins from 42 competitions (they also won 3 of the next 18 to give them 8 wins from 60 competitions)

    Win Whitefurze 50L bin
Win a £75 Sanctuary Bathroom Treats Hamper
    Win a Beldray Multi-Portion 5-in-1 Grill
Win £40 to spend online at Bloom & Wild
    Win a CouchCoaster
  • mjm, think I was looking at the same thing as you :)
  • I have won 5 times in August for the C2Ws - I enter every possible day for the comps i want to win via the maximum amount of entry routes. My computer system is optimised to run as efficiently as quickly as possible allowing me to open 80+ tabs at a time, I then click through all entry routes. I always enter when there is less web traffic to the C2W sites and this seems to enhance my chance of winning - At the end of the day it is just sheer luck that i have won 5 c2ws in the space of a month......

  • hmm. Call me a sore loser but I don't buy it.

Someone won 16 competitions, someone else won 14 in the last month ... Statistically, that is impossible ... If that's down to luck then I'd go buy a lottery ticket 'cause it's a done deal.

80+ browser tabs on the C2W'S seems unlikely to me too, what system do you have and what browser do you use?
  • Home built system running chrome .. fast broadband average connection speed of around 300mbps ... Nothing is ever impossible

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread Charliebear. I think the c2ws are like goodreads it's the time you enter and how savvy you are with technology. I don't look at winners so this thread has been demoralizing but I'm not giving up yet as it only takes one entry to win
  • To enter all of the competitions on every site will literally take you about 10+ hours a day (probably more with the Videos now). So to win 16 competitions in 4 weeks you would either need to spend 10+ hours every day entering everything or choosing say 20 competitions and entering them on every site, every day ... which will still take around a good few hours and being lucky enough to win most of them.

There's no way, someone's using software or a Python script or something to enter. I don't buy that you could win that many and account it to sheer luck.
I'm tempted to go back a few more months and see exactly how many these serial winners are winning over the course of a year.

I do not like daily/multiple entry competitions (unless the prize is daily) and I do not like multiple entry routes for just one prize, so I really do not like daily entry across multiple sites for one prize - If I made just 6,000 of the possible entries for a £500 prize and won it, the value of each entry would be less than 9p.
So in the same way I would not enter a competition for a chance to win 9p I wouldn't make multiple entries so the possible return on each entry was 9p (in many cases the value is much lower than 9p).

I did enter a few of them when many were on 3 or less sites (1 site for a prize worth £3,000) and there were lots of prizes worth over £500 - won a prize worth £699 with about 6 entries so worth about £116 an entry. I won 2 competitions twice (got them to redraw the extra wins) and won several others all with less than 20 entries each but even then the winning entries were probably only worth a £5 a time.
