OK my PVR arrived today and have set it up tonight. Can anyone help me on the recording front - i have just tried to record a programme on channel 1 - to do this i pressed 'Guide' on the remote, selected the programme from the listing by pressing the 'red' button and then pressed 'red' button again to add to the 'planned recordings list'. However now that the show has ended and i press 'Library' (which i assume should list the recorded programmes for me to watch) it states 'No programmes'? can anyone help me with this

N.B i am trying to record another programme as we speak would this affect the library funct?

p.s programmes which finished over an hour ago are still showing in the 'planned recordings' section but nothing at all showing in the 'library'?

Also i have loads of memory left on the PVR so this isn't the problem.

Many thx in advance for any help

can anyone help me out pls. I think it might be a set up problem? In the instructions it states to run aeriel from RF out on PVR to the Aeriel in on VCR - i don't have a VCR so i have run the aerial from the PRV into the TV Aerial in but i also have the scart connection from PVR to TV?

Finally the PVR is accessed via Ext1 on my Samsung R87 tv - is this normal.

many thanks for any help Huggins

Huggins this happened to me yesterday too. Set it to record Corrie-when I got in nothing there and wasn't in the library!
Then we discovered that there had been some sort of upgrade. In stead od pressing record and then red button to store the recording press the record button twice and it stores it.
Luckily Corrie was repeated at midnight so I recorded it then

thanks for pointers - howeveri have been pressing the red button twice and it adds the programme to planned recording but doesn't record? I assume you can only watch recorded stuff from the library are? as i can go back into the planned recording section and highlight the programmes but can't get any to play? all very frustrating as just leaving for work and want to record the calz fight re-run at 1pm?!

Press the record button twice NOT the red button-it should store it.If not switch the Thompson box off at the plug and re start it.

Hi All - the other problem i have noticed with this PVR is that the picture quality has is no where near as crisp as without the PVR attached - is there anything i can do to improve the picture quality? eg. special cables or scart leads of something?

Hi having probs with my PVR - first problem is that the record function always stop 3 mins or so before the end of the actual programme - very annoying?1 any suggestions as to how i can fix this. I have read about downloadin firmware earlier in this thread how do i do this?

Secondly when i go to the 'Guide' function - it should give me further info on the programme highlighted in the list - according to the user guide. However when i hover over the programme i don't get any further information on the programme?

man thx for any help - i suspect i may have to send it back for an exchange.

    regards Huggins

What is this idiot on about? She/he/it has spammed this post!!

In answer to your question if Going to Main Menu and then Set up then Recording Preferences you can prevent missing bits of recording use the recording guard feature e.g. add 5 mins to start and end to try and get late starts and not miss end of recording. You can get it to automatically give you details of programmes by choosing the Customise DDT from Menu and then changing Synopsis Popup Delay

Update firmware (currently ver 2.88) by having PVR set to Channel 5 roughly 5.30pm or 11.30 am for update
