OVO Energy

Has anybody switched to them? Happy?

I went to the website and clicked on the get a quote button.
I entered my postcode and house number told it I had between 2 and 3 bedrooms then up popped a monthly price of £95 !

It didnt even ask me for my gas or electric unit usage so where on gods green earth are they getting to £95 a month ?
Current payment is £42 although N Power want to push this up to £67 next month!
I really do not trust these energy companies. No doubt somebody can tell me the error of my ways.

I am not paying that much for all that tight lycra to be speeding around the UK on the Tour of Britain LOL.

THe only "accurate" estimate you get is when you use the actual consumption in kwh for the last months - do not use your last DD, number of rooms etc.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

They often get good feedback. I had a bad experience with them.

During my Ombudsman case they lied about about a verbal conversation happening. I had never verbally communicated with them. The Ombudsman decision hung on their made up conversation notes and if it wasn't for the fact I was able to categorically deny ever phoning them I would have lost the case.

So IMO they are cheating liars. YMMV.

Presumably, they have based the cost on an average, as most comparison sites also allow you to do.

I'm sure they can create an accurate quotation based on your anticipated annual consumption figures if you go onto provide these, as comparsion sites also do.

Have I mentioned comparison sites yet???

Seems you already know about them as you atated about an hour previously that you already used one of them (uSwitch) on 22 Aug to apply to switch

A switch that presumably has not gone live yet, as it takes a minimum of 17 days from application.

If you already decided you don't trust them, why are you wasting your time even looking at them, let alone the time of other MSEers???

Some people obviously have far too much time on their hands...

Are you lurking on here to actually assist or to just try and feel better about yourself? A very curt response thats really uncalled for but TBH I do expect the occasional oddball on any forum and think you must be "it" this time round. Youre not exactly subtle. You need a hobby.

    It's an estimate.

If you click the 'refine you quote' option, (look to the left) then you can enter details of consumption etc and get a more precise quote.

I blame the schools. How to use the internet should really be on the curriculum. :)
