Hi All
I have found out that a bank is not adhering to the Visa Core Rules. I want to take them to court regarding this. I have a solicitor involved who agrees with me. Anyone else come across this?
What are the Visa Core Rules? I've never heard of them referred to in this way before. And, yes, I have heard of situations where a Chargeback was available and a bank had refused to do it. You tell me more about yours and I'll tell you more about mine.0 -
Perhaps you should start with the first sentence of the MSE chargeback guide before spending money on a solicitor?...chargeback isn't a legal protection, and card companies offer it at their own discretion.0

Since the OP has been very scarce with info, we can only speculate. The OP thinks they have met the reasons, but the bank disagree. We don't know much more, and maybe the OP doesn't want us to disagree with him/her too.0

The problem is privity of contract. The OP is not a party to the agreement between the CC and the networks.
The FOS has said it would be unfair for CCs not to use chargeback to assist cardholders where it is available, but AFAIK that's as far as you can go. Ie complain to the FOS. There isn't a direct claim against the CC.0 -

Yep. This is what the FOS says about chargebacks: https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/disputed-transactions.htm#4.0
